Kata Baron is a makeup artist based out of Los Angeles, CA + Albuquerque, NM. Makeup is more than just a job or a hobby for her – it’s a culture & a lifestyle. She grew up exploring her artistic roots when she discovered her love and ability for makeup. She was raised by artists who inspired her to value her talents and use the unconventional medium of makeup as a form of expression. Encouraged to follow her passion, Kata then went on to study makeup at MUD (Makeup Designory) in Burbank, California in 2008. She learned how to do makeup for film, print, SPFX, and bridal. She also specializes in male grooming & beauty makeup.
Kata puts emotion into her work because she believes that makeup is about more than what meets the surface. It wasn't until Kata started representing herself and working as a freelance artist that she truly began her education in makeup, developing into the artist she is today. She prides herself on building rapport with her clients and colleagues to create life-long relationships.
Kata’s artistry has been published in magazines such as NYLON, MODO, Western & English, Cowboys & Indians, and Albuquerque the Magazine. Her work can also been seen in Nissan, HGTV, and Walmart commercials. In addition to editorial commissions, she has celebrity clientele that she services in all their beauty and grooming needs. She has worked with leading industry brands such as Makeup Forever, Sephora and MAC Cosmetics.
Kata's artistry enables her to transform the face and create characters. This helps others discover their distinct beauty. Her obsession with perfecting the skin and balancing the face sets her work apart from others. Whether it’s “Avant Garde “or the "No-Makeup-Makeup-Look", Kata understands her canvas and enjoys the work she creates. She is always willing to collaborate and is available for commissions worldwide.
